2025 Summer Programs

Intro to Biomanufacturing Camp (10th-12th graders)

Do you love all things science?  Are you interested in what it takes to make vaccines and other modern biologic drugs? Come learn about Biomanufacturing in a FREE camp! Through this one-week camp, students will learn the techniques involved in making some of our most complex and useful drugs.  NOTE:  Please bring lunch and drink to class each day. 

Intro to Biomanufacturing is offered three separate weeks. Contact info@brcc.edu to register.

Tuition: FREE to students through a Commonwealth of Virginia special appropriation to BRCC and JMU.

Pre-Veterinary Technology (ages 14-18)

Interested in veterinary medicine? Explore the veterinary world and learn the roles of the veterinarian, veterinary technician, and veterinary assistant. Learn the basics of animal handling, operation of a veterinary hospital, and common medical problems of animals.

Pre-Veterinary Technology is offered three separate weeks. Call 540-453-0264 to register.

Summer Nights: Collection of Dance Scenes from Grease (ages 9-17)  NEW

Dancers – join us for Summer Nights:  A Collection of Dance Scenes from the musical Grease! This youth dance week begins with an acting and jazz dance warm-up, learning and refining dance steps for choreography. To become comfortable and start developing artistic skills, you will explore dance games, acting games, and improvisation of both. Students receive a part in the dance performance, with acting and lip syncing. Performance for family and friends is the last day of class!

Youth Ceramics:  Lanterns and Luminaries (ages 11-14)  NEW

Up and coming potters – learn how to work with clay! This class focuses on hand building techniques including slab building, press molds, and coil building. Students will discover how to build lanterns or luminaries. This class is beginner friendly; start your pottery journey young!  Bring a towel and a mask.

Youth Ceramics:   FUNctional Pottery! (ages 14-18)  NEW

Learn about functional pottery through slab building techniques. Students will explore how to build and decorate various forms, such as platters, mugs, and bowls. Focused techniques include working with slabs and templates, wood block forming, and pinch forming.  Beginners welcome. Bring a towel and a mask.
