Fall 2026 Testing Schedule
The Testing Center has returned to Room F115. Admission to the center ends 15 minutes prior to closing.
August 19 – December 12, 2026 (Standard Hours):
- Monday and Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (see exceptions below)
- Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, 8:30 a.m. -7 p.m. (see exceptions below)
- Saturday, 9 a.m. -2 p.m. (OPEN on dates below)

- September 12 and 19
- October 10, 17, and 31
- November 7 and 14
- December 5 and 12
The Testing Center will be closed or have altered hours on the following dates:
- November 23 – 27: Fall/Thanksgiving Break (College Closed)
- December 21 – January 1 (2027): Winter Break (College Closed)

Testing Services
The Testing Center administers proctored course testing for all schools within the Virginia Community College System (VCCS), and non-VCCS schools. We must receive the information from the issuing school 3 business days in advance. Certification exams for outside agencies must be arranged 7 business days in advance and require an appointment.
Testing Fees
Proctor fees must be paid through the cashier’s office in advance of testing. Testers must bring a copy of their receipt to the testing center.
- No fee for BRCC or VCCS students.
- Course exams for non-VCCS schools and agencies = $30.00 each.
- Certification exams for outside agencies (VDOT, real estate schools, etc.) = $40.00 each.
Required Procedures
For Students
- Check our schedule and be aware that testers will not be allowed to enter in the 15 minutes before closing time.
- Bring a photo ID to each visit.
- Read information on the website about Honorlock, alternate testing sites, the Waynesboro Outpost, etc., as necessary. PLEASE DO NOT wait until the last day or minute to take a test!
- Know your login credentials (7-digit EMPLID) and bring a phone for the MFA process for online tests. Cell phones and smart watches are not permitted while testing but cell phones are required for online test login.
- Know your instructors’ names, course names, and which test(s) you are taking.
- Personal laptops may not be used for testing.
For Faculty
- Please make your cell number available to the testing center. We need to reach you in real time if there is a problem with a student’s test. We will text rather than call if you prefer.
- Use the Test Administration Request (Google form) to submit information for all paper and online tests.
- Keep passwords for online tests simple; a phrase is better than a random string of characters.
- For paper tests, make sure your name, course name and number, and test name/number appear at the top of the test.
- Multiple copies of paper tests must be printed in Duplicating.
- If a test that is set up through Honorlock needs to be taken in the testing center, make sure to submit the online request form and include Honorlock’s bypass/accessibility code in the password field.
- Be aware that students may also test at the Waynesboro Outpost. Test request details are available to their staff through the same form submission. Contact the Outpost at (540) 453-0263 or outpost@brcc.edu.
- If a student chooses to test anywhere other than BRCC’s main Testing Center or the Waynesboro Outpost, use the Alternate Proctor Request Form to initiate that process and work directly with the chosen location.
Tests
English and Math Placement Testing
English and Math placement testing is only available on a case-by-case basis. Please consult an admissions advisor about the need for these placement tests. Contact info@brcc.edu or Advising for additional assistance.
Anatomy Placement Test (APT)
The Anatomy Placement test (APT) is available in the BRCC Testing Center. The APT may be taken twice a month.
- Register here (login required) for free access to self-study information and test information.
- BIO 141 (Anatomy and Physiology I) has a prerequisite before enrolling in the course.
- You will need to either pass an Anatomy Placement Test (APT) with a 70% or earn a “P” in NAS 2 or earn a “C” or higher in BIO 101.
- If you have already taken BIO 141 and earned “C“ or higher and wish to retake the course, you do not need to take the APT.
- Students who do not wish to test may choose to enroll directly into NAS 2 or BIO 101 instead of taking the APT.
Kaplan Nursing Admissions Test
Students must set up a Kaplan account in advance of testing.
- Go to Kaplan’s BRCC page
- Follow the enrollment steps to register your account using your @email.vccs.edu address.
- The Kaplan Nursing Admissions test may be taken once in an application year.
- It is advised to take the exam once you have completed most/all of BIO 142.
- You do not need an appointment to take the Kaplan Nursing Admissions test during normal Testing Center hours.
- You will need your Kaplan log-in information and password in order to test. You will also need a photo id.
Please arrive at least 3 hours before close to allow adequate time for Kaplan registration and testing.
