The BRCC Educational Foundation was established in 1985 to build community relationships and secure resources to strengthen the programs and services of Blue Ridge Community College. The Foundation is governed by a volunteer board of directors comprised of representatives from business, financial, and professional areas in the communities served by the College.
As you may know, BRCC is supported by local and state funds, as well as tuition and fees. However, you may be unaware that current appropriations provide funding for only the basic operations of the College. These traditional sources of funding have not kept pace with the robust growth of Blue Ridge Community College and the increasing needs of its students and community. The BRCC Educational Foundation seeks out alternative sources of funding to maintain the excellence in education our community expects and deserves.
The BRCC Educational Foundation is a non-profit, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization; all gifts are tax deductible as allowed by law. For income tax purposes, the federal ID number for the Educational Foundation, Inc., is 54-1328809. Donors will receive calendar (tax) year giving credit for checks that are mailed and bear a postmark of December 31 or earlier. Gifts with postmarks of January 1 or later will be posted to that calendar (tax) year giving record (per IRS rules and regulations). BRCC’s fiscal year runs July 1 to June 30. Please make checks payable to the BRCC Educational Foundation.
