Information Technology Credit for Prior Learning

Students currently enrolled in an Information Technology Program at BRCC are eligible for college credit if they hold current certifications in any of the trainings listed below.  To request college credit, students should email pictures of current certifications to Registrar@brcc.edu

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Certifications

Students who can document current certification in Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud Practitioner may receive credit for ITN 257 Cloud Computing: Infrastructure and Services (3 credits)

CompTIA Certifications

BRCC will grant credit for certifications completed through CompTIA.  The student must show a current certification card in order to eligible for credit.

CompTIA A+

Students who can document current certification in CompTIA A+ may receive credit for ITN 106, Microcomputer Operating Systems (3 credits).

CompTIA Network+

Students who can document current certification in CompTIA Network+ may receive credit for ITN 208, Protocols and Communications (4 credits)

CompTIA Security+

Students who can document current certification in CompTIA Security+ may receive credit for ITN 260, Network Security Basics (3 credits).

Google IT Support Professional Certificate

Students who can provide current certification in Google IT Support Professional Certificate may receive credit for ITN 106, Microcomputer Operating Systems (3 credits) and ITN 107, Personal Computer Hardware and Troubleshooting (3 credits).

Microsoft Office Specialist: Excel Expert

Students who can document current certification in Microsoft Office Specialist: Excel Expert may receive credit for ITE 140 Spreadsheeting for Business (3 credits)
