Student Emergency Financial Assistance
This funding is intended to assist students who face unexpected emergency situations that impede their ability to continue and succeed while enrolled at Blue Ridge Community College. There are two types of funding available for students in emergency situations. The application is the same for either funding source and the SOAR Coordinator will assist students through the application process. It is important for the student to meet with the SOAR Coordinator to finalize the application, coordinate any needed documentation and understand the process. The SOAR Coordinator submits the application, with a summary of the student’s emergency to the Review Committee who reviews the information, determines approval or denial and if approved, which funding source. The decision of the committee is final.
