Asking for help is the first and hardest step, so we are glad you’re here! Mental health and wellness are important ingredients to life fulfillment and happiness. While BRCC does not provide in-house counseling services to students, we do provide area resources.

Getting Help
Don’t be afraid to ask for help, it’s a team effort! If you are experiencing stressors that interfere with your academics at BRCC we want to help you connect to the resource that best addresses your need. Our SOAR Coordinator is available to privately discuss your specific challenges and connect you with resources.
The SOAR Center is located in the Student Success Center, Houff G164A (directly across from the cafeteria).

TimelyCare BRCC students have FREE, 24/7 access to virtual care services with TimelyCare, the virtual well-being platform made for college students. Students do not need insurance to use TimelyCare services, which are available 365 days a year. That means you have access during breaks, after-hours, anytime, anywhere you need support!

Register with your school email now, so it’s there when you need it. Registering is easy with this link – TimelyCare or download the TimelyCare app on your phone.
As part of BRCC’s partnership with TimelyCare, students have access to these services:
- Self-Care Journeys: Guided self-care journeys provide tools for better health and well-being on topics including bouncing back, stress, anxiety, healthy relationships and even offers yoga and meditation sessions. This is your wellness journey!
- Peer Community: A safe platform where you can share your thoughts, feelings and emotions as part of a nationwide community of students who may face the same challenges.
- TalkNow: 24/7 on-demand emotional support from a licensed mental health professional, to talk about anything, including anxiety, relationships, depression, and school-related stressors.
- Scheduled Counseling: Choose the day, time, and mental health provider that best suits you. Every BRCC student is eligible for three FREE counseling sessions per year.

Accessibility
Some people think they may be judged for seeking help with mental health. This can be a stigma that isn’t justified or appropriate. Getting help takes courage!
- Use school resources – There is support at BRCC to help you succeed! The Office of Student Accessibility, located in the Student Success Center in the Houff building, can assist you in getting reasonable accommodations based on your health provider’s recommendations.

Support Group for Survivors of Suicide Loss
Lanterns of Hope is a support group for those who are suffering from the devastation of a loved one’s suicide. This group is for the exchange of comfort and encouragement in a confidential and casual atmosphere of hope and healing. Nonreligious and nonclinical, and is organized and run by its members.
