Veterinary Technology Program Admission Requirements
You must apply for general admission to BRCC before applying to the program. Applicants will be objectively evaluated on academic credentials and veterinary/animal experience.
All Applicants
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of high school or college biology, including lab, with a āCā or better
- Official transcripts from high school and non-VCCS colleges attended
- Clinical Observation Report, demonstrating an awareness of the profession
- Completed Program Application for Admission
Additional Requirements
All Applicants
All students admitted to the Veterinary Technology Program are required to be rabies vaccinated and to provide documentation by a health care professional of such immunizations by the start of the program to be compliant with AVMA Accreditation Standards.
On-Campus Option Applicants
Completion of ENG 111 and CHM 110 curriculum requirements prior to application (may be currently enrolled in these courses at time of application with admission contingent upon successful completion)
Distance Learning Applicants
Completion of the SDV, ENG111, CHM 110 and 3 other credits of curriculum requirements at the time of application (10 of the 16 credits). (May be currently enrolled in these courses at time of application with admission contingent upon successful completion)
Application Deadline: January 31, 2025 (begin accepting applications after December 1, 2024)
Application must be submitted by 11:59 pm on January 31, 2025.

Registrar@brcc.eduIf you are using high school biology to meet your biology requirement and/or have earned fewer than 15 college credits by Dec. 31, 2024 you will need to submit your high school transcript to BRCC.
College transcripts from non-VCCS schools must be received by January 31, 2025.
Complete a "Transcript Evaluation Request Formā so that BRCC staff will evaluate those transcripts when received. You will also need to use that form to request an evaluation of credits earned at other VCCS colleges. A transcript evaluation must be completed for any college credit not earned at BRCC and submitted to Admissions and Records.
