BRCC raises Hunger Awareness With Week of Activities
Blue Ridge Community College (BRCC) and the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank (BRAFB) are partnering once again to raise the profile of hunger, both locally and abroad. The 17th Annual Virginia Hunger Symposium is designed not only to raise awareness, but to work toward solutions for a problem that plagues local communities, the nation and the world.
All proceeds benefit the BRAFB. Public events include:
Garden Demo

Naomi Jones of Staunton’s Jones Gardens (http://www.jonesgarden.org/) will instruct and demo how to use a small space to grow food.
Fundraiser: Moe’s Southwest Grill

Fight Hunger: Forum on Volunteer Opportunities

Empty Bowl Dinner

The Empty Bowl Dinner raises funds and awareness for the VA Hunger Symposium. $20 minimum donation includes soup, beverage, and dessert with a ceramic bowl to keep.
